There seems to be a new push for MSG acceptance. That those of us who experience negative symptoms when we consume it are imagining it. WebMD says that although some people may experience headaches, flushing, nausea, or more, there is no conclusive evidence that MSG is harmful to you. (UGH!) MSG is a flavor enhancer and is known by dozens of names, and is literally in most of the food in our food chain.
I, for one, have a horrible experience when I consume MSG. Because I have Meniere’s disease and am prone to vertigo and already have migraines, MSG’s effects are magnified for me. So I try to stay far away from it. But, I have been subjected to numerous comments about how I’m wrong and that MSG is safe.
So, getting this out there now. I believe MSG should be banned in all its forms – you can poison your body if you want to, but I’m not going to. I’m eating very healthy – or as good as can be with a poisonous food chain. And I can tell the difference.
Thanks, K
