For the first time in a very long time, I had a positive experience talking to a doctor about my chronic pain. I was respected. I was believed. And, I was prescribed pain medication – which I hadn’t asked for – for the first time since the Pain Clinic in Chambersburg dropped me in August 2018. That’s almost FIVE YEARS of dealing with pain with zero effective pain relief.
I do have options that many don’t since I am an herbalist and can put together tinctures and teas that can bring about some relief, but none have come close to an actual pain medication. Although I will still use my herbals for the milder pain it will be nice to have something stronger for when I need it.
I’m still amazed and feeling hopeful.
